Hello! (woof)
My name is Lucky.
After some pretty scary experiences this year, including being dumped on a strange beach by my owner and nearly being eaten by some guard dogs (just doing their job I suppose) I now live in Belmont, Grenada, with 14 dog friends (and several cats), looked after by a wonderful lady called Margaret.
Margaret is a gardener, growing and arranging beautiful flowers for the enjoyment of guests at the Calabash Hotel (a very nice place) - but every spare moment and cent that she has is spent caring for us dogs.
With Margaret, we're all well fed, get loads of affection and first-class attention from the vets at the small animal hospital at the Grenada University of Veterinary Medicine in a country where the life of an unwanted dog can be pretty horrible.
Please will you help us build a fence?
We really need a nice safe exercise run to play in and keep fit, but Margaret's home was badly damaged in Hurricane Ivan (she took all the dogs to safety under the house during the hurricane), and with large weekly food and vet bills, the cost of properly fencing off her yard in the steep, rocky landscape of Belmont has just been too much.
Some of us have had some bad experiences (read about Dorris and Annie), but with Margaret and a little help from you dog-lovers we can have long, healthy, happy lives here in Grenada.
Thankyou
love from
Lucky xx
